In Inglewood, Elected Officials Are Well-Paid, Speedy and Never Seem to Disagree

Inglewood Councilman Eloy Morales Jr. turned toward the mayor as the City Council’s longest meeting in two years adjourned.
“Hey man, I feel like we worked today,” Morales said, his voice picked up by the microphones.
Mayor James Butts laughed. “I know,” he replied.
The councilman jokingly compared the less-than-three-hour session to working “construction or something,” according to a recording of the Oct. 18, 2016, meeting.
It’s easy to see why Morales felt that way.
